Desktop IntelliPanel CSIMP205

My Desktop IntelliPanel doesn't seem to be working?
Please check that all plugs for your devices are in the correct sockets on our product before you proceed any further. It is quite easy to get them mixed up in error particularly as we tend to have a number of cables to work with.
My peripherals do not switch off when my PC goes into standby mode!
Some PCs use as much power when in S1 standby mode as in normal operating mode. Please try setting standby mode to S3 mode in your BIOS or making sure you turn your PC off fully.
Why are my peripherals switching on and off intermittently?
In order to fully calibrate the Desktop IntelliPanel you may need to switch off your computer after you have switched it on for the first time. The IntelliPanel uses something called Auto Calibration. In order for this to work properly your computer must go through an on and off cycle. The IntelliPanel will then learn to adapt to your computers' unique patterns of energy consumption. If you find your Desktop IntelliPanel is switching your peripherals and Master device off without any instruction from you or if they switch off after only a few moments, don't worry the panel isn't faulty it just needs to re-calibrate itself. In order to recalibrate your panel just follow the simple steps below:

  1. Switch off the IntelliPanel at the mains supply.
  2. Wait 5 seconds.
  3. Turn on the IntelliPanel at the mains supply.
  4. Wait 5 seconds.
  5. Switch on the computer
  6. Wait until all programs (Windows etc) have fully loaded.
  7. Switch off the computer

This will calibrate the Desktop IntelliPanel. Your computer is now ready for use.
If the re-set procedure hasn't resolved your problem then we will be happy to help you further. Please complete and submit your details by using our Technical Enquiry Form.
Can I use my Laptop Computer with a Desktop IntelliPanel?
We do not recommend it because the Desktop IntelliPanel works by sensing the current used by the Master Device. Batteries inside laptops often use more power during the charging cycle than when in active use, this confuses the Auto Calibration technology. The only time a Desktop IntelliPanel should be used with a laptop is when the internal battery has been removed, however we recommend using USBIMP205.
Can I use my TV/Audio Visual system with the Desktop IntelliPanel?
Yes, it may be possible to use your television as the 'master' device but check the Desktop Computer configuration instructions first and remember that the 'master socket' is permanently powered which means only peripheral equipment will be switched off . We have designed versions specifically for Television or Audio equipment which enable you to switch off your 'master device' and peripherals and can also work with your remote control.
Does the Desktop IntelliPanel switch power off to my computer?
No, the 'master socket' remains permanently powered but modern computers use a tiny amount of electricity in standby (normally less than 1 watt). Collectively, peripheral equipment is responsible for lots of wasted electricity primarily because they can be left on or in standby when not in use. If you would like to switch you computer off completely then you may use one of our television versions.
Does switching my Computer and peripherals on and off reduce the lifespan of the system?
Technology advances and development in electrical components allows equipment to be switched on and off without reducing the lifespan of the system.
The Desktop IntelliPanel switches power on and off after a delay of a few seconds, is this normal?
Absolutely, we called it the IntelliPanel for a reason, it will only allow power to be sent to your equipment once it has ensured that power really is required. It does this by continuously measuring the flow of electricity actually being used so it's nothing to worry about!
Does the IntelliPanel have surge protection?
Yes, it has surge protection for the Master Device and all peripherals, including the telephone /modem splitter.
Can the Desktop IntelliPanel damage my equipment?
No. Oneclick products are simple switching devices that cannot interact or interfere with your equipment. They are manufactured and tested to comply and meet British Standards. Our patented Zero Crossing Detection can actually help your equipment last longer by reducing stress to components when the IntelliPanel switches power on or off to your peripherals.
If I use some of the power saving options on my computer, such as Hibernation Mode, how will the Desktop IntelliPanel react?
All OneClick devices automatically detect the low power state and so shut down all peripherals connected to the panel. As soon as you re-activate the computer your peripherals will automatically come to life. You won't have to lift a finger!
One of my peripherals switches off but does not switch back on, why is this?
In a few instances, some peripherals have soft switches which automatically default to 'off' when power is switched off. In such cases, you have to manually switch the power on to this device as our product cannot physically turn equipment on. We are sure that the benefits you will achieve from saving energy and money will out-weigh this small inconvenience and it is still better to switch equipment off when not in use.
Do I need a separate remote control to operate the Desktop IntelliPanel?
No. We don't believe in wasting money and resources so we designed the IntelliPanel to detect the fall in power when you switch your Master device off, only then, will the IntelliPanel power down your peripherals automatically.
I have more than seven peripheral devices that I need to plug into the Desktop IntelliPanel, how do I achieve this?
We have tried to make our products as versatile and adaptable as possible but if you have more peripherals than 'peripheral' sockets then it is possible to use a conventional extension block with our devices provided you do not exceed the maximum load of 13A. If your environment allows you use trailing sockets/extension blocks with our devices then plug it into one of the 'peripheral' sockets to create more. There's no need to worry about safety provided you keep to the maximum load as our products are designed to meet British Standards, which means that they are entirely safe to use in this manner.
What is the maximum load I can plug into the Intellipanel?
The maximum load for all of the Intelliplug and Intellipanel products is 13A
Can I plug more than 1 device into the master socket?
Our IntelliProducts are only designed for use with one 'master' device. Using more than one would confuse the Auto Calibration system. OneClick is constantly developing and recognising their technology can be adapted to meet a number of new challenges and energy saving opportunities. We post details of all product launches on our website so we would suggest you check with us again for further exciting news.
I have a USB Hub with LED's which is powered by the Desktop IntelliPanel. When I switch off the computer the LED's on my mouse, keyboard and USB Hub stay on. Why?
The mouse, keyboard and USB Hub are connected to the USB socket of the computer. These sockets are permanently powered and so may cause the LED's to illuminate, it's nothing to worry about.
Do I need to route my telephone/broadband through the Desktop IntelliPanel?
We suggest that you do but it's entirely up to you. We've put it there so you can have complete piece of mind. If you decide to run your telephone/broadband through the IntelliPanel you can rest assured that they will have the benefit of surge protection.
If I connect my telephone to the Desktop IntelliPanel will I still be able to use it when the computer is switched off?
The telephone/broadband lines on the IntelliPanel are permanently powered which means you can use them even when the rest of your equipment is not in use.
How do I route my broadband through Desktop Computer IntelliPanel?
It's really easy, please see our telephone/broadband configuration instructions.

How much power do my peripherals actually use and what savings can i expect using a OneClick device?
To calculate the amount of energy used, you would have to refer to the manufacturers information of your equipment. As for savings that can be achieved this will differ for each user as it epends on the following factors:

  1. The number of peripherals used.
  2. The cost of electricity which can be obtained from your supplier.
  3. The number of hours that equipment would normally be left on or in standby unnecessarily.
  4. The amount of power consumed by peripherals.

Independent tests have shown that our products are cost-effective and can pay for themselves many times over. You will also be helping to 'go green' by improving your carbon footprint which is just as important.
