Television/Audio Visual IntelliPlug TVA105

My Television/Audio Visual IntelliPlug doesn't seem to be working?
Please check that all plugs for your devices are in the correct sockets on our product before you proceed any further. It is quite easy to get them mixed up in error particulary as we tend to have a number of cables to work with.
Why is my television switching on and off intermittently?
The TV IntelliPlug uses our unique patented 'Auto Calibration' system which enables it to learn and adapt to your televisions' unique patterns of energy consumption. In order for the Television/ Audio IntelliPlug to fully calibrate, you must switch off your television after you have switched it on for the first time. This on/off cycle is required for our product to work properly with your equipment. You may also like to check the Re-set instructions for a step by step guide.
Can I plug anything other than a TV into the Master Socket?
It may be possible to use your amplifer as the 'master device', please view our set up information for amplifier configuration instructions.

The TV IntelliPlug is designed for use with a 'master device' usually a television as it is regularly switched on and off and has supplementary equipment known as peripherals. In this instance, most other audio or visual equipment is not considered to be a 'master device'.
Can I use my Desktop computer with the Television/Audio Visual IntelliPlug?
You can use a desktop computer as the 'master device' in place of a television however; the 'master socket' on the Television/Audio Visual IntelliPlug is not permanently powered which means all your equipment will be switched off. Please view our set up instructions for computer configuration instructions.
Can I use my laptop with my Television/Audio Visual Intelliplug?
Batteries inside laptops often use more power during the chargnig cycle than when in active use and this confuses the Auto Calibration technology. We have designed products specifically for use with Laptops, we recommend that you use a USBIMP205 or a USB105.
Does switching my television and peripherals on and off reduce the lifespan of the system?
Technology advances and development in electrical components allows equipment to be switched on and off without reducing the lifespan of the system.
The Television/Audio Visual IntelliPlug switches power off after a delay of thirty seconds, is this normal?
Absolutely, we called it the IntelliPlug for a reason. As modern technology advances, so too does the sophistication of household gadgets. Automatic downloads to digital televisions are becoming more and more common. Recognising that it would be detrimental to an electrical system to switch off mid download, the IntelliPlug will only power down your equipment once it is sure no more power is required by the Master Device(for down loading etc). It decides this by continuously measuring the flow of electricity actually being used, so if it takes a little while to switch off it's nothing to worry about!
Does the Television/Audio Visual IntelliPlug have surge protection?
Yes, it has surge protection for the Master Device and all peripherals.
Can the Television/Audio Visual IntelliPlug damage my equipment?
No. Oneclick products are simple switching devices that cannot interact or interfere with your equipement. They are manufactured and tested to comply and meet British Standards. Our Zero Crossing Detection can actually help your equipment last longer by reducing stress to components when the IntelliPlug switches power on or off to your peripherals.
One of my peripherals switches off but does not switch back on, why is this?
In a few instance, some peripherals have soft switches which automatically default to 'off' when power is switched off. In such cases, you have to manually switch the power onto this device as our product cannot physically turn equipment on. We are sure that the benefits you will achieve from saving energy and money will out-weigh this small inconvenience and it is still better to swtich equipment off when not in use.
Do I need an additional remote control to operate the Television/Audio Visual IntelliPlug?
The TV IntelliPlug has a remote sensor which can be set to learn the signature of your remote control 'ON' button so there is no need to waste money on resources on additional remote controls. The IntelliPlug detects the fall in current when you switch your 'master device' off, only then will it power down the peripherals automatically.
How do I programme the remote sensor to recognise my remote control?
Simple, just visit our remote sensor page.
What colour should the light inside the remote sensor be?
This depends on the production model, the light may be green or orange in either case your sensor will not be affected.
Can I activate the Television/Audio Visual IntelliPlug manually if I lose my remote control?
Of course, to manually activate the IntelliPlug all you have to do is press the button on top of the remote sensor and activate your master device within thirty seconds. For more instructions visit the remote sensor page.
I have more than one peripheral device that I need to plug into the Television/Audio Visual IntelliPlug, how do I achieve this?
We have tried to make our products as versatile and adaptable as possible but if you have more peripherals than 'peripheral' sockets then it is possible to use a conventional extension block with our devices provided you do not exceed the maximum load of 13A. If your environment allows you to use trailing sockets/ extension blocks with our devices then plug it into one of the 'peripheral' sockets to create more. There's no need to worry about saftey provided you keep to the maximum load as our products are designed to meet British Standards, which means that they are entirely safe to use in this manner. We have designed TV IntelliPlugs which offer more peripheral sockets so you may like to look at our TVAIMP205 or TVAIMP206.
Can I plug more than 1 device into the Master Socket?
Our IntelliPlug is only designed for use with one 'master' device. Using more than one would confuse the Auto Calibration system. OneClick is constantly developing and recognising their technology can be adapted to meet a number of new challenges and energy saving opportunities. We post details of all product launches on our website so we would suggest you check with us again for further exciting news.
Can I timer record to my Video/DVD recorder from my Sky Digibox using the Television/Audio Visual IntelliPlug?
The 'Sky' socket on the IntelliPlug is designed and dedicated specifically for use with a 'Sky Digibox' and when that 'Sky Digibox' is not required for timer recording.
If you want to timer record from your 'Sky Digibox' to recording equipment such as a video or DVD recorder, both of these appliances would need plugging in seperately to the IntelliPlug. Alternativley, you may wish to consider purchasing a TV IntelliPanel which has 'permanent on' sockets which provides surge protection when your devices are plugged in.
Can I use the IntelliPlug in conjunction with Sky+ and Sky HD and still record my programmes?
The 'Sky' socket is designed and dedicated specifically for use with a Sky Digibox and when that Sky Digibox is not required for timer recording. If you want to timer record from your Sky Digibox to recording equipment such as video or DVD recorder, you would need to connect both appliances to the 'permanent on' socket and not the 'Sky' socket. This can be achieved by using an extension block with the 'permanent on' socket located on the IntelliPlug to create the required number of sockets to accomodate your appliances. Do not exceed the maximum load of 13 amps.
Why does the standby light on my television take up to a minute to go off?
These small 'standby' lights are called LED's (Light Emitting Diodes) they are a very energy efficient bulb. The residual energy stored in these tiny lights can power them for a minute or so after the electricity has been switched off.
How much power do my peripherals actually use?
To calcute the amount of energy used, you would have to refer to the manufacturers information of your equipment. As for savings that can be achieved, this will differ for each user as it depends on the following factors:

  1. The number of peripherals used.
  2. The cost of electricity which can be obtained from your supplier
  3. The number of hours that equipment would normally be left on or in standby unnecessarily.
  4. The amount of power consumed by peripherals

Independant tests have shown that our products are cost-effective and can pay for themselves many times over. You will also be helping to 'go green' by improving your carbon footprint which is just as important.
What function does the dedicated sky socket perform?
The dedicated sky socket is designed specifically for Sky Digital. When you turn off your television the peripherals will switch off together with your Sky Digital Box. The Sky Digital Box will be powered back in to standby after 30 seconds. This automatically re-sets your Sky Box and places it in to standby mode ready for use. The Sky socket is not recommended for Sky + or Sky HD.
