Surge Protection.

Have you ever switched on a light bulb and watched it go ‘pop’? Have you ever seen a spark when you switch on your light? These incidences might be due to switching the power on at the peak flow of electricity. Now imagine if a much larger surge of electricity reached your home, it could have devastating effects on any electronic items. These spikes in the electricity flow are known as surges.

Surges can be caused by electrical interference such as those generated by distant electrical storms, large electrical loads being switched on and off in the neighbourhood or sudden demand on electrical generators etc… Our units can give surge protection up to 1440* joules of dissipation. This should help protect your connected equipment against most surges**

**Please note, the product will protect against voltage spikes that can occur occasionally of a few thousand volts over a few milliseconds. However, direct hits by nearby lightning are so powerful that they can damage buildings and electrical wiring etc, so cannot be protected against.
